passion


5.      What does dance mean to you?

a way to communicate to others


6.      Give us a description about your dance history?

I was in the first ever teens dance crew competition in kenya which was
aired on ntv kenya by the name danceomenia as a kallenjin dollaz dance team
and we gave a start to the youth dances you see today cz i have witnessed
themgrow as i see and brought about sakataobys,katika and many more tv
dance competitions you see around


7.      Can dance earn someone a living in Kenya?
yes if you give it what it wants


8.      Who is your role model in matters of dance?
uncle boneless


9.      Do you dance full time or do you have other hustles?

I have other hustles as to be able to manage platinum dance crew


10.  What are some of the challenges you face as a dancer?

costumes,not getting paid well in events, and hustling for events and
cooprates


11.  In your opinion are Kenyan dancers united?

no


12.  What problem does the Kenya Dance Industry face?

no appreciation for dance yet in kenya


13.  Mention several dance events that have greatly supported dance in Kenya?

kenyatta university cultural week,sakata, katika, obys,
battle of the dance
crews and talent in the city


14.  If given a chance to change one thing in the Kenyan dance industry what would you change?

the judges in our local competitions should be dancers and former
dancers even current choreographers like edu (sarakasi) but not local celebs
who know less about dance


15.  Do you see yourself as a dancer in eight years’ time?

more than 8 years
 as in till i die


16.  Is dance a career like any other or just a hobby?

it is a career to me because my team lives together in one house ,eat
and dress plus going to college and dance does pay the bills


17.  What is your opinion concerning dance events in Kenya?

they do not appreciate dancers but the lime light of their events using
dancers in the name selling them out


18.  What advice would you give to anyone who wants to take up dancing as a serious profession?

commitment and seriousness plus focus and set a goal


19.  Do you think the government of Kenya recognizes dancers or supports dance?

yes but traditional dances



20.  Your last words?

make dance known as a career and respect dance its expensive
