WHO OR WHAT IS SWAP UNIT ?

GET TO KNOW……..SWAP UNIT

A few years back we noticed something………..
a lot of events were happening but something wasn’t right,
there were too many complaints, too many issues,
too many arguments, clients complaining of poor services,
dancers being taken for granted………
we set out to create change rather than accept things as they were.

An entertainment and event management company was born…..SWAP UNIT ENTERTAINMENT……with our slogan GIVING YOU THE BEST….
which is a constant reminder that our clients are our main priority thus we never compromise on our services.

OUR NICHE: We looked keenly into the entertainment industry and realized there was a loophole, yes there was, DANCE was no been recognized as an art on its own, dancers did not have an event specifically catering o their needs, dance was enjoyable yet frowned upon, dancers had no voice and event organizers had a budget for everything else apart from dancers.

We took a bold step, we brought in change, we created platforms for dancers and build our selves as the pioneers and change makers of the dance industry. Well, some people understood and embraced our vision while others, condemned and spoke ill of us. We stood firm we had a vision to fulfill we were not about to let cheap talk with no basis put an end to us.

We decided to be an entertainment and event management company but take dance as one of our key areas to build upon. Meeting after meeting we sought of the possible ways to fulfill our vision, challenges, obstacles, discouragement we went through it all.

Finally we put our thoughts into action…………..we created………….

Ø  BATTLE OF THE DANCE CREWS

                  Ø  DANCE CONNECT

                               Ø  KENYA DANCE AWARDS

                                           Ø  DANCE 254 AGENY

BOTDC - THE BIGGEST DANCE BATTLE IN KENYA

These four concepts would be our foundation and pillars in building a vibrant, reliable and professional dance industry. The battle would give a platform for healthy competition, dance connect would give dancers a chance to showcase their skills, the awards would motivate and recognize excellence in the dance industry while the agency would concentrate on management and running of dance workshop and seminars. Yes, we actually thought it through……..step by step, day after day.

Since we began, we have worked with dance groups such as…………..

v  SAINTS

v  RELOADED

v  FLAMERS

v  SHRINK

v  BGP

v  SPYDAZ

v  PLATINUM

v  FLIP-ITS

v  XPLODES

v  INTRUDERS

v  ABOVE LIMIT

v  FANTAGIOUS

v  THE BAND

v  KIPAJI

v  TRICKLES

v  XCAVATORS

We not only offered these dance crews a platform to do what they love most, but we brought in professionalism by hosting events which focused more on content and growth.

The change is evident, from our video clips of our first events to what we see now been offered by dancers it’s clear that there is great improvement.

We did not just come to build a plat form we came to be pioneers to bring change.

And now SWAP UNIT does it again………..we introduce one of the best ideas we have been working on for years…….the DANCE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION OF KENYA in-short  known as DIAK. This is a body setup to speak on behalf of dancers and to champion for their rights. With DIAK dancers will have representation, will have a bigger voice and will be formally recognized as part and parcel of the entertainment industry.
